With the recent release of R13 Maxon did a fine job of renewing the SSS Shader inside C4D. Here’s a tip for faking a SSS like Effect, the big downside with this technique is that it can’t take shadows in account and you have limited flexibility in order to mix it with other material channels. This can be solved in compositing though. The big advantage to the other possibilities to generate a sss effect in c4d is that this technique renders blazingly fast. Happy experimenting :-) (no audio)
